The Significance of Age 6
The beauty of the Nation of Islam is that we bear witness to all universal truths wherever they may be found. It does not matter if it is found in the Torah, the Gospel or the Holy Qur’an. It could have been spoken by Abraham, Moses, Jesus or Muhammad – we just love the truth. As so-called “religious” people, we also have no conflict with any of the natural sciences, mathematics or metaphysics. We accept that we are bound by all universal laws. In fact, we are taught that Mathematics is Islam and Islam is Mathematics and “you can always prove it at no limit of time.” The purpose of God’s coming was to make us perfect representatives of Himself. The scriptures bear witness that at some point in time the human being will be perfected. Since our nature is the same as the nature of God, we know we have that potential. He came to teach us the science of EVERYTHING – so that we can become like Him – a god!
The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches that all of the numbers have meanings – most have multiple meanings. The Bible says that the heavens and the earth were created in six days and the Holy Qur’an says Allah (God) created the heavens and the earth in six periods. Not only is the physical composition of the human being from the earth; but our spiritual divinity and mental acuity come from the heavens.
The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said, “The Honorable Elijah Muhammad said, ‘As the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.’ So, it is in education. The child should know at six years old what its future is. What it wants to do with its life. If it engages in mindless foolishness and triviality it will not get in tune with itself to know at six where it wants to go. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad said, ‘At eighteen years of age, we should have finished our doctorate degree, ready to go out into the world to practice that which we have learned in theory. So, if you get a doctorate degree at eighteen, how much time do you have for mindless activity? None. God does not waste time. Neither should we.” (Closing the Gap, p. 373)
So, the standard is God Himself. Being reared for centuries under the burden and trauma of white supremacy, blatant racism and systemic manipulation of our genius makes it understandably difficult to accept that we could accomplish the above said with ease. The reality is that getting a doctorate degree at the age of eighteen is actually child’s play when you compare it to what we once accomplished before we were tampered with. We are taught that The Original Man is the Asiatic Black Man; the Maker; the Owner; the Cream of the Planet Earth – God of the Universe. Our ancestors were responsible for putting the moon into orbit along with the stars and all the planets. Allah (God) gives us many signs of our original greatness – He shows us in the scriptures; throughout nature; by the handiwork of past civilizations; and by raising brilliant ones among us.
For example: Look at the great pyramids in Egypt – we could have buried them or destroyed them, but they were left as a sign of our mastery. It’s 2018 and still, the best architects, archeologists, and Egyptologists can only speculate as to how these massive structures were built – the theories are never ending. Not only did Black people construct the pyramids with stones that weighed from 2 to 30 tons each, but the pyramids were aligned with the stars. Originally, these stones were so well polished, you could see your reflection. The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad said that Master Fard Muhammad told him how the pyramids were built, but he would not share it because, in our current condition, we would do nothing with that knowledge; however, the enemy would use that type of wisdom to remain in power forever. Even more fascinating…As mysterious as the pyramids are, they were built during the time of our fall, not at the peak of our greatness. I heard Student Minister Ava Muhammad say, “If these were our graves; imagine what our homes looked like!”
We are in the midst of an evolution and revolution to reclaim our greatness, so we must get back to our natural timetable and not be retarded by the enemy’s developmental milestones that he put in place for himself, not for the Original Man. After all, he is very new to the earth. The Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad bear witness that the age of six is a powerful time for the Original child. It was at the age of six that Master Fard Muhammad saw Himself “pushing the Fords, the DuPonts and the Rockefellers into a lake of fire. At six years of age, He came into the Knowledge of Who He was.” In the book, Message to the Blackman in America, we learn that Yakub, the Father of the white race, was the founder of unalike attracts and like repels. At the age of six, “he was sitting down playing with two pieces of steel. He noticed the magnetic power in the steel attracting the other…He learned his future from playing with steel” (p.111-112). And what about Mary and Joseph, who “promised to marry when they were going to school at the age of 6...” (Our Saviour Has Arrived, p. 159). The rest, of course, is history.
The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said, “In the very nature of the human being is the potential to subdue the earth. This means that we have the potential to bring the earth completely under our power by mastering the laws under which the earth and all therein are created.” An elite few have discovered and achieved their true godly potential; but sadly, the masses do not have a clue. Allah (God) gives us signs of our true potential in common people. We have all heard of people with genius-level intellectual skills; or child music prodigies; perhaps a person with computer-like memory; maybe one who can read thoughts; or even a person who practices telekinesis. There are many among us who are born with these gifts as a sign to the rest of us that we all have the potential to reach these extraordinary heights. All of this can be studied, learned, practiced and mastered.
Several years ago, a Sister who had young children, was desirous of beginning a new career and asked Mother Tynnetta Muhammad when she should return to school to pursue her studies toward that goal. Mother Tynnetta Muhammad said that she should wait until her youngest child reached the age of six. Mothers, in particular, have to be around physically and emotionally to not only create the proper nurturing environment to draw out what God already put in our children; but to also be able to recognize the gift when we see it. This takes tremendous sacrifice and discipline. If we are overly consumed with accomplishing our personal goals and desires; along with the other demands of life, we may miss it.
We begin teaching our children in the womb; but when they are born, exposure is everything. The baby is born knowing nothing, but in him/her is the nature of God, who desires to know everything – so all types of learning are fun for the new life. We should expose our children to mathematics, languages, music, colors, textures, animals, plants, geography, etc. We should buy toys that challenge development, motor skills, dexterity, creativity, and critical thinking. The law of nature suggests, ‘What you don’t use (or abuse), you lose.’ The earlier our children being to stimulate and exercise their brains, the more likely they are to be able to access other realms of possibilities.
The brain of a baby through the age of six experiences rapid growth and development – almost anything can be learned during this critical period of brain development. What takes place during these years is significant for the brain to fully develop in later years. The brain was created to think right, so falsehood goes against the grain, ruining the brain’s capacity to operate on the highest level. Animals and plants do not talk; and certainly, inanimate objects do not talk – but this is the falsehood that our children are continuously fed, through books, toys, television, and movies. It will take loving, determined and resourceful parents to not only provide the proper cognitive stimuli for their children but also the best physical nourishment and spiritual guidance – each influences the others.
So, by the age of six, when this world says that our children should begin the first grade, we are starting our children on the road to developing their purpose in life. An exceptional child will be able to communicate exactly what they intend to do with their life at this young age. However, most children will exhibit a special skill, talent, gift or interest. It is up to the parents to properly interpret this ability and create a conducive environment that will encourage its growth and development, eventually leading the child to fully master his or her divine purpose in life.
Well, what should we do if our children do not know or do not exhibit their purpose by the age of six; or perhaps we were not in-tuned enough to recognize it? If that’s the case, we should give them a purpose. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan said that we look foolish asking our small children, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ If they have not told us or showed us; then we tell them. We need to establish a Nation of our own. Everything that a nation has, we need – but we need God at the center of it. We are to choose a Nation-building discipline for our child and guide the direction of their life in accordance with that purpose. The goal is for them to master a particular discipline and pursue it to the fullest as they mature and use the skills acquired for the benefit of themselves and their Nation. But, either way, their journey towards fulfilling their purpose in life should begin at the great age of six. “Blessed is the man or woman that finds their purpose in life and fulfills it.”
